The 2nd graders' music program was all about dinosaurs, so we decided we would love to design the backdrop for the concert. I wanted to connect it to science as well, and how artists help us understand the world around us. Dinosaur bones were projected on paper, and students guessed at where muscles, fat, and soft spikes might be. After painting, they added animal textures like scales, feathers, spots and stripes.
