Wood's best known work is his 1930 painting American Gothic, which is also one of the most famous paintings in American art. When people look at this painting, they interpret many different feelings and stories.
It was first exhibited in 1930 at the Art Institute of Chicago. Since then, it has been borrowed and satirized endlessly for advertisements and cartoons.
In continuous contour line drawing, we keep our eyes on our subject as much as possible, don't pick up our pencil, and draw slowly and carefully. lt's fun! Here are some examples I found with a google image search. Notice that none of them are perfect! The imperfections are beautiful.
